About the FAA TRUST Exam

What does "TRUST" Stand For?

TRUST stands for “The Recreational UAS Safety Test”, and is what you need to complete if you want to fly an unmanned aerial vehicle (aka “drone”) recreationally in the United States.

You must complete the test to receive your completion certificate. As you work through the training material, you will answer the questions until you’ve achieved a 100%.  If you get a question wrong, you will see why the answer was wrong and get additional chances to answer correctly.  The goal of this training and exam is education.  The FAA wants to ensure that all recreational fliers are equipped with the knowledge they need to fly safely.

Important Information About Your TRUST Certificate

Upon completion of the test recreational fliers should print or save a digital copy of their completion certificate and keep it on their person when they fly. Your TRUST administrator cannot re-issue your completion certificate if it is lost. The FAA cannot re-issue your completion certificate. Should you lose your completion certificate, you will need to re-take TRUST and obtain a new certificate.
