Sinuhe Montoya

Sinuhe Montoya

Aerial Roof Inspection Pro & Solar Roof Inspection Pro

Sinuhe is Co-Founder & CEO of DroneQuote, a company that uses drones to inspect and survey roofs for the purpose of installing solar or new roofing.  Sinuhe was indirectly introduced to drones while on deployment to Iraq when his unit used drone imagery to assess road conditions looking for improvised explosive devices. As a result, Sinuhe has an appreciation of having  benefitted greatly from drone technology.

In the civilian sector, while working for a solar and roofing installer — Sinuhe found himself constantly climbing up and down ladders to measure and inspect roofs. In 2014, Sinuhe purchased a multi-copter and immediately saw how using drone technology could make his life easier and help develop the solar and roofing business.

Since then, Sinuhe has created new methods and protocols to perfect the process of using drones for roof inspections. He is dedicated to further developing best practices to help train drone pilots by adding another valuable skill to their toolbelts.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you want to fly drones to make money (for commercial purposes) you will need your Part 107 Certificate from the FAA. To get this certificate, you will have to take an exam administered by the FAA. Once you pass the exam (our course prepares you to do just that!) you will receive your Part 107 certificate in the mail, and you will be able to fly your drone and make money!

Part 107 is a set of rules administered by the FAA that allows someone to fly their drone for commercial purposes.

Yes. Flying your drone in support of a business still falls under the commercial use umbrella.

Your remote pilot certificate is the document that will allow you to fly your drone commercially, and if you attempt to use your drone for commercial purposes without one, you can face hefty fines. You get it once you successfully pass the Part 107 exam at an FAA testing center. Once you receive it in the mail, you will want to make sure to carry it with you when you are using your drone. See our guide for more information.

The FAA exam covers many topics, and our course makes sure to cover all the topics you may face on the exam so you are fully prepared. These topics include Rules and Regulations, Radio Communications, Airspace, Reading Sectional Charts, Effects Of Weather, Sources Of Weather Information, Loading And Performance, Airport Operations, Emergency Procedures, Maintenance And Inspection, Physiology, and Aeronautical Decision Making.

This is a fully online course, which you can access through any PC, Mac, tablet, or even your phone! We do not currently offer in-person training.

Normal: Our course has 8-10 hours worth on content in it, and many students take about 1-2 weeks to go through the course.

Yes! Our students have a 99.54% exam pass rate, so you probably won’t need to take us up on the guarantee…

But if you don’t pass the exam on your first try, just let us know and we’ll give you a full refund on the course AND we’ll give you $160 out of our own pocket so you can retake the exam at a testing center.

You can see all of our guarantee information at the bottom of this page.
